Product Swap - Tales from Outside the Classroom

Product Swap

Today I’m participating in the Product Swap!  After the Blog Swap and Hop I organized in June, I’m excited to participate in something that I didn’t have to organize!  🙂  For more information on the swap, and to hop to the participating blogs, click the image below.  (P.S. Thank you to the wonderful 3AM Teacher for creating it!)

I’m swapping products with the lovely Tammy from 1….2….3…..Teach With Me.  I went looking through her TpT store and was excited to try out her Comparing Numbers Mats to practice CCSS K.CC.6

There are two mats.  Students place a number of items in each mat and then write the amount in the box on the bottom left.  Of course, laminating these would make them reusable.  I was also thinking that this could be done with partners.  Students could roll a dice and place the corresponding amount of pieces onto their mats to compare.

Tammy has also provided a recording sheet.  Students cut and glue to identify if the number in group #1 is greater than, less than, or equal to the number in group #2.

I thought it would also be good to have students turn the fact around to represent the inverse.  (Sorry for the blurry picture!)

I really like this product.  It is simple enough that it can be differentiated or applied in your classroom in a variety of ways.  Instead of gluing the cards, students could use the corresponding sign >, <, or =.
Click on any of the pictures to check out the Comparing Numbers mats.  Tammy’s reviewing my Fry Phrase Baseball game for Set #2.  Go on over and check it out!  Don’t forget to follow the link at the top to go check out the other participants!
